Starting in March, energy drink Xenergy is set to appear in 818 corporate and 642 independently-owned Sunoco stores and 320 Sheetz locations.
C-store chains Sheetz Inc. and Sunoco Inc. both have opted to add XYIENCE’s Xenergy, the official energy drink of the UFC, to their stores, expanding the brand’s presence on the East Coast.
Between them, the two convenience store chains operate more than 5,000 branded retail locations in the Eastern and Midwestern U.S.
“We previously had little presence on the East Coast, but these new relationships put us on the map there, opening more than 1,000 doors, collectively, to XYIENCE,” said Reuben Rios, the company’s vice president of U.S. sales. “We’re looking forward to being asked, ‘How do I get XYIENCE into my sets and stores?’ even more frequently than we are now.”
Fuel provider Sunoco has 4,800 branded retail locations in 23 states, mainly in the East Coast and Midwest. Beginning March 2011, 818 corporate and 642 independently owned Sunoco stores will carry XYIENCE’s Xenergy Premium in Mango Guava, Cran Razz, Cherry Lime and Blu Pom. The locations included in the agreement span 16 states, from Maine to South Carolina. McLance Company Inc. will provide supply chain management services.
Based in Altoona, Penn., Sheetz is a 50-year-old family-owned convenience store chain with some 365 high-energy locations. The 320-plus stores encompassed by the agreement with XYIENCE are in Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Virginia. Beginning in March 2011, Sheetz customers in those areas will find Xenergy Premium beverages including Mango Guava, Cherry Lime and Blu Pom. XYIENCE will direct-ship its products to Sheetz, which self-distributes.
