For the sixth year, Wilson Farms helps shoppers find an easy way to feed the hungry in their communities.
Wilson Farms Inc. is once again teaming up with other local retailers to support the Food Banks of Western and Central New York in the annual “Check Out Hunger” campaign.
All 188 Wilson Farms, Sugarcreek and Wilson Farms Xpress locations across New York State are now accepting $2, $3 and $5 donations through February 19.
This is the sixth consecutive year Wilson Farms has supported the Check Out Hunger campaign, which provides a quick and easy way for shoppers to help feed the needy in their communities. Customers can have store associates add their donation to their bill directly at the check-out with all proceeds going directly to the Food Banks of Western and Central New York. A $2 donation will provide 11 meals to individuals (depending on the Food Bank); $3 provides 16 ½ meals and $5 provides 27 ½ meals, according to the Food Bank of Western New York.
“Over the past 5 years, Wilson Farms has raised more than $145,000 for the Food Banks of Western and Central New York through the generosity our of customers,” said Wilson Farms President and CEO Paul Nanula. “Our team is excited to be a part of this campaign again in 2011, and we are proud to give our customers the ability to make a difference in the lives of their neighbors.”
Through the Check Out Hunger campaign, Wilson Farms not only raises funds for the local Food Banks, but also awareness of hunger in its communities, Nanula added.
Wilson Farms Neighborhood Food Stores currently operates 188 convenience store and gas station locations across New York State.
