Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes, which operates 80 stores throughout New York State and was named CSD‘s Chain of the Year in 2009, recently celebrated its 30th Anniversary at Utica-Rome Speedway with bands, a kids zone, a classic car and bike show, food and fun.
“It was a great day and one that many will remember for years to come,” said John MacDougall, Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes’ president and CEO. “I am glad we were able to celebrate with our customers and thank them for their 30 years of business.”
Nice N Easy also awarded its Grand Prize of a 1980 Pontiac Turbo-Trans Am Indy 500 Pace Car to John Groat of Syracuse, N.Y. Groat’s name was drawn on Saturday, Aug. 21 from over 75 Finalists that attended the Celebration.
Groat registered for the Indy Pace Car at the Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppe located on Erie Blvd East in Dewitt, N.Y. The grand prize drawing was part of Nice N Easy’s 30th Anniversary Promotion, which began in May. Customers registered to win at all stores throughout the chain, and then finalists for the grand prize were drawn monthly from each store. Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes’ staff held 14 Anniversary parties at various Shoppes from May through August to reward their customers for their past 30 years of business.
Live radio remotes, delicious food sampling, giveaways, clowns, Elmo as well as Anniversary cake was offered at the parties.
Saturday, Aug. 21, was the culmination of the Anniversary Celebration. The Vernon Fire Department food concession area was busy all day, the kids zone kept the children occupied, the hot air balloon walk was entertaining and the live entertainment from The Honeybush Brothers, Emerald City, SourMash, and The Custom Taylor Band was a big hit. Over 140 cars, trucks and motorcycles participated in the Classic Car & Bike Show.
Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes’ 30th Anniversary was made possible by the participation of a number of loyal vendors and suppliers, including major sponsors: AmeriCU Credit Union, Crowley Foods, Deli-Boy, Finkle Distributors, Image Press, Pepsi-Cola, and Dr. Pepper Snapple Group.
“We couldn’t have put together a promotion of this magnitude without the support of our great suppliers and vendors. On behalf of Nice N Easy, I’d like to thank all of our sponsors, staff and great customers for making our 30th Anniversary Celebration such a memorable event,” MacDougall said.
“Our 30th Celebration was a big event that took a lot of work and planning but it was a dream come true to see everything go off without a hitch and have so many customers have such a great time. We are still receiving thank you notes from our customers,” said Nice N Easy Grocery Shoppes’ Project Manager Ann Ammann.
