Shell Oil Products U.S., in partnership with its credit card issuer Citi, is launching a new Shell Drive for Five Card.
The Shell Drive for Five Card will offer new cardholders the opportunity to save five cents per gallon on Shell-branded fuel. Shell believes the new card is one of the first proprietary cards with an everyday offer from an energy company.
New Shell Drive for Five Card cardholders will have the opportunity to earn a savings of five cents per gallon on all three grades of Shell Nitrogen Enriched gasoline as well as Shell diesel when they purchase at least 45 gallons each month, up to 100 gallons. The card design incorporates Shell Visual Identity standards and is intended to catch consumers’ eyes when they open their wallets. It will be publicly unveiled the day of the launch.
The Shell Drive for Five Card benefits both customers and wholesalers. Shell customers will be rewarded for their increased loyalty, while Shell-branded wholesalers will benefit from another zero merchant service fee card that they can begin accepting immediately as it operates on existing EPOS hardware and processing networks.
The Shell Drive for Five Card will be advertised through point of purchase (POP) signage at Shell-branded locations nationwide from May 3, 2010 through August 2, 2010. Additional marketing channels will include online, direct mail, radio, print, email, and the leveraging of other Shell product and service communications.
