York, Pa.-based Rutter’s Farm Stores, which operates 55 c-stores in Pennsylvania has introduced pigtails in a cup, as well as sliced roast pork au jus and a number of other new items.
The new food menu items will be offered at its 38 stores that have touch-screen ordering.
An order of pigtails comprises two hot dogs cut in long strips. When the strips are fried, they curl to resemble pigtails. They are served in a cup with a choice of ketchup, yellow mustard or Dijon mustard. An order costs $1.29.
Other menu additions included sliced roast pork au jus as part of a dinner bowl ($5.99) or a sandwich ($4.39); an order of pigtails or a chicken or hamburger slider as options to Rutter’s $2.99 kids meal; seasoned potato wedges in regular ($1.39) or large ($1.79) sizes; pork egg rolls, $1.39; fried dumplings in three flavors: apple, strawberry cheesecake and chocolate swirl. They come three to an order for $1.79. Also available is Canadian bacon as a breakfast-meat option.
