Tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 6, Wilson Farms and Reid Petroleum will launch western New York’s second E85 fuel station at Wilson Farms, located at 95 South Transit Road near High Street, in Lockport.
A ribbon cutting ceremony begin at 2 p.m. that afternoon along with comments from Paul Nanula, the CEO and president of Wilson Farms Inc. and Paul Quebral, the president of Reid Petroleum.
The event takes place on the one-year anniversary of the opening of the first E85 fuel location, which opened at Wilson Farms on Ruie Road in North Tonawanda.
E85 is the term for motor fuel blends of 85% ethanol and just 15% gasoline. E85 is an alternative fuel as defined by the U.S. Department of Energy.
“It is an honor for Wilson Farms to once again be a part of this moment in environmental history as E85 has been proven to pose less risk to our environment by reducing carbon dioxide emissions, a harmful greenhouse gas,” Nanula said.
“For both environmental and economic reasons, there is an increasing number of flex fuel vehicles on the road throughout the U.S., including in Western New York,” added Quebral. “Reid Petroleum has been supplying motor fuels throughout western New York since 1922, and it is important that we provide E85 now as an option for this growing sector of customers. We are especially pleased to be doing so again, at the second location with our partners at Wilson Farms.”
