West Coast retailer Fresh & Easy, the U.S. arm of UK-based Tesco, has opened a new store in San Diego’s Point Loma neighborhood.
San Diego City Council Member Kevin Faulconer joined Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market CEO Tim Mason in opening the new store, the company’s 71st overall and the seventh in San Diego County.
Other openings that are planned for that area:
Local dignitaries were joined by dozens of neighbors for the grand opening celebration in Point Loma, while representatives from Friends of Silver Gate Elementary were presented with a donation to support their efforts in the neighborhood. Friends of Silver Gate Elementary was selected by the store staff from neighborhood nominations made through Fresh & Easy’s Web site, the company said.
“We are proud to offer our customers in Point Loma the same high-quality food at exceptional prices that have become a hit all across Southern California, Nevada and Arizona,” Mason said. “We look forward to opening even more stores, and bringing even more good paying jobs to the San Diego area.”
