Ankeny, Iowa-based Casey’s General Stores will present “Casey’s Night at the Races” at Hawkeye Downs Speedway on Aug. 15, an online publication by RaceFan Inc. reported.
The retailer is celebrating its 40th anniversary this summer with a number of promotions. In July and August, Casey’s patrons have been able to purchase any 2 liter of pop for 40 cents when they buy a large pizza, and the retailer also teamed with the Pepsi Co. to provide in-store coupons for specially marked Mountain Dew 24-packs selling at $5.99.
Also this month, Casey’s began selling its 40th anniversary train set for $39.99, with proceeds going to Casey’s Charities, while the retailer teamed with Anheuser Busch to offer 30 NASCAR ride-alongs at the Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa.
The company also launched a free gas promotion where 40 prize packs are being given out, each of them including $2,500 in Casey’s gift cards, 26 large one-topping Casey’s pizzas, 52 dozen Casey’s donuts, 26 12-packs of Pepsi and a Tracfone with 1,440 minutes of airtime.
As part of the Aug. 15 promotion at Hawkeye Downs Speedway, Casey’s is offering a number of free tickets at the 60 Casey’s stores that are closest to the Cedar Rapids raceway. NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Landon Cassill, a native of Cedar Rapids and a former Hawkeye Downs racer, will race in the Late Model division and participate in a fundraising effort for flood relief. Fans can also “Walk a lap with Landon” by making a donation at the races.
