Meijer supercenter on June 1 will begin cutting fuel prices by 10 cents per gallon for all customers who use their Meijer credit cards when purchasing fuel at its gas stations, the company said.
The program will run through Labor Day at all 165 Meijer gas stations, and will offer discounts on all grades of gas, including diesel, E85 Ethanol and bio-diesel.
The 10-cents-per-gallon discount will immediately be reflected in the price paid at the pump. The program actually replaces the 5-cents-per-gallon discount Meijer customers previously received when using their Meijer consumer credit card.
All part of Meijer’s newly introduced “Meijer Gives Back” initiative, the fuel discount was designed to help customers save a few dollars at the pump throughout the busy summer driving season.
“All of us have felt the effects of constantly rising prices at the gas pump,” said Brian Horsford, director of gas stations for Meijer. “As gas has taken a bigger bite out of household budgets, we wanted to introduce a program that helps ease the burden, especially during this time of year when vacations and other family trips are so common.”
The company estimates that drivers will log more than 800 billion miles this year, with the bulk of those miles coming in the summer months. Drivers can pay at the pump or pay within the gas station with their Meijer consumer credit card to realize the promotion’s savings. There is no minimum fuel purchase requirement and the discount is valid at all Meijer gas stations and c-stops.
Based in Grand Rapids, Mich., Meijer operators 182 supercenters throughout Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and Kentucky.
